Motivation gets hard to come by.
My motivation killer? A to-do list that has grown too large. I get overwhelmed by how many things must be accomplished, and suddenly napping, playing with a rabbit and generally slacking off seem so much
more important.
What throws you out of whack like this? And how do you overcome it?
I find that is helpful to commit 5 minutes a day to the most important tasks. It can be those 5 minutes of starting something that can be the most difficult, and typically if I get through the first 5 minutes I can do a great deal more. Try not to get discouraged when you don't even get to 5 minutes. Keeping trying. For creative people it is a daily challenge to keep motivated and thinking creatively.
ReplyDeleteI choose 3 things each day that are really important.
ReplyDeleteI tell myself that 2 need to get done and 1 can carry over.
It usually works!! And I feel successful at the end of the day.
But hay - we have busy lives ... we need to forget the list every once in a while and just get outside or do nothing for a while :)
